How far is the nearest grocery store?
The nearest full grocery store is in Houma, about 20–25 minutes away. There's a smaller convenience store at Coco Marina (5 minutes from the lodge) for basics, snacks, ice, and bait.
Is the area safe?
Yes. Cocodrie is a small, tight-knit fishing community where everybody knows their neighbors. Crime is rare. The lodge has keypad entry, plenty of exterior lighting, and a quiet residential location.
What's the cell service like?
Cell service is generally good in Cocodrie. AT&T and Verizon both work well. You might see some weak spots out on the water, but at the lodge you'll have full service.
Is there parking on-site?
Yes — abundant on-premises parking for multiple vehicles plus boat trailers. No parking fees, no street parking required.
How do I get to Pelican's View Lodge?
From New Orleans: Take US-90 West to Houma, then LA-56 South all the way down. The lodge is about 1.5 miles south of where LA-56 and LA-57 meet, on the right.
From Baton Rouge: Take I-10 East to LA-1 South, then connect to LA-90 East to Houma, then LA-56 South.
From Lafayette: Take US-90 East to Houma, then LA-56 South.
